Salt Creek Falls Hwy 58

Salt Creek falls is located on Hwy 58, 20 miles East of Oakridge. Salt Creek is approximately 280’ and drops down into a pool. You can swim in this pool but it is mighty cold and the last bit of trail to get there is very slick. This last bit of trail is not governed by any marked areas or handrails so take definite caution.
The main trail from the parking lot goes in two different directions. The trail from the left will bring you out just abreast of the falls while the trail to the right will take you out quite away in front of the falls and I think provides for a better view. The trail is easy access for all except the lower trail that takes you almost to the bottom of the falls where at which point you can continue down to the pool but I guarantee you will get wet.

Also from the left trail there are many additional trails in which to wander and I will be writing about them in future Spring posts as I have not ventured these trails but recently have been told some secrets that have definitely left me intrigued and me being the adventuresome type am itching to go.
I think the falls are spectacular from the bottom and if caught in the late summer everything down here is so emerald green. I would suggest a warm yet lightweight jacket or sweater if you plan on going to the bottom. Even if it is 90 degrees out, the water makes for a much cooler atmosphere.
There are full amenity bathrooms here, a paved parking lot and the main trail is handicap accessible. The entire trail system is both dog and child friendly and relatively safe, unless you plan on climbing between the rails. Also there are specially designed rails for those in wheelchairs so that their viewing is easier. All but the lower trail system and the dirt system of trails is handicap accessible and we have interpretive kiosks and several picnic areas.
