Crescent Lake Resort-Highway 58

A breathtaking Crescent Lake sunsetIf you go approximately 45 miles South from Bend on Hwy 97 you will end up in Crescent, take a right onto the Crescent cutoff and follow 12 miles to the stop sign which is Hwy 58, take another right and 9 miles up you will come into the tiny town of Crescent Lake. The town itself consists of a few small stores, places to eat, motels, gas, and the one of the general meeting places called Manley’s. Across from Manley’s is the road to the Crescent Lake Resort. Now while I have never stayed at the resort itself I have done my share of camping on the lake and eating at the resort, as well as much sightseeing. This is a beautiful place. I love it especially in the winter.

The pristine and panoramic views of the waters, mountains, buttes, streams and the way the sun makes it all glow, the beauty of it when encased in snow. The deer and elk that can be seen all year, the year round fishing for Kokanee, German Brown and Rainbow trout as well as Mackinaws. There is also hunting for you hunters. The resort does offer full amenities, cozy cabin rentals all year which I am seriously thinking of for this winter and although currently up for sale will not shut down as these country folks are open all the time.

This whole mountain area is great for any time of the year recreation sport you can think of and the people are the down to earth kind that will help in a pinch. Even though the community is small, it does come in a great package.
Have a gander, visit their website and make plans. I guarantee you won’t regret it.
